The Syriac Orthodox communities in Syria are drastically affected by the current political struggle and war in Syria. A Christmas Greeting from Archbishop Eustathius Matta Roham On December 23, 2012:
Dear Mr. Peter Nakkash & friends of TMS
Peace and greetings to you in Christ our Lord and Redeemer.
I hope this finds all of you well.
As we approach to celebrate the Nativity of our Lord, I am hopeful that Christ will never forget the people of Syria and all humanity to bring them peace and justice.
Despite the current distressful crises in our beloved county, Syria, it is right and duty to chant with the angles of heaven: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” (Luke 2:14). I am delighted to wish you on this holy occasion a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.
I am delighted to share with you some photos, which explain to you our church activities and the current situation in my Archdiocese.
Assuring you and all your colleagues and mutual friends of my prayers and blessings, I wish you success and prosperity throughout the New Year, 2013.Your brother Christ,
Eustathius Matta Roham,
Archbishop of Jazirah & Euphrates
